I Truly Love the Rain

Walking outside in a thunderstorm with the optional beer power-up.

Today I want to talk about the rain. Just how amazing rain is.

If I could live anywhere, I would choose to live in the rainiest place on planet Earth, as long as I had a house over my head.

And that’s not to say, like, “Oh, I just need a house so I’m not in the rain.” I love being outside too. I just love the rain.

I was thinking about it more. I love lightning. I love thunderstorms. I love a shit ton of snow. But rain is nice because, unlike snow, it doesn’t block my movement. If it’s a torrential downpour, then sure. But, you know, you can still go out and survive and make it work.

The rain is just, I don’t know. It’s amazing.

I’m not a religious dude, but it feels like such a godly phenomenon. It feels powerful because you can’t control it. I can’t control it.

The lightning strikes. The thunder. The smell it creates off the asphalt and pavement. The feeling it gives you when it just smacks you in the face. There’s just something so nice about it.

If you ever get a chance to grab a beer and walk outside and drink while it’s raining, man, I can’t recommend it highly enough. You also don’t need the beer. That’s just, I don’t know, some sort of added power-up if you want it.

I wonder if the dinosaurs thought, It’s raining, you know?

Did they enjoy the rain as much as I do? What did they think about the rain?

Did dinosaurs enjoy the rain too?

It’s calming. It’s soothing. It’s scary. It’s powerful.

Water is violent.

Water is concrete.

Water breaks things down. It moves things. It changes the landscape and everything around it.

I don’t know. It’s just an amazing thing.

I truly love the rain.
